Cancer Support France-Languedoc

CSF Languedoc is an organization  committed to helping English-speaking people in the region who are experiencing cancer. The trained volunteers may  help by being available on the telephone, by visiting at home or in the hospital, by serving as a translator or interpreter where needed, by supplying information when requested.

CSF Languedoc is a branch of CSF France. It is financed through donations, fundraising, membership dues.

Two AWG members are presently volunteers with CSF. If anyone is interested in knowing more about the organization in view of becoming a volunteer or « a friend of CSF »,  please contact Pam I or Maquita S.

3. be part of the.   Upcoming Walk for Life by Cancer Support France   Sunday 29 September 2013

Our yearly Walk for Life will take place on Sunday 29 September. This has become CSF-Languedoc's most important awareness and fundraising event which is timed to coincide with CSF awareness week nationally. We hope that this year's event will be as well attended as previously and that you will be able to join us and support us by informing everyone you know about the event. It will be a great opportunity to spend some time with like-minded people while keeping fit and enjoying spectacular countryside!

In response to your feedback we are offering a new walk this year, still in the Montagnac area but using the very special circuit of the sculptures in the vineyards: .

We are offering  the choice of a shorter walk (5.5km) and a longer one (11km).

Many of you requested to join a group to walk so we have organised a guided walk for each circuit The guided walk for the longer circuit will leave at 9.30 and for the shorter one at 10.30. You can of course walk either circuit on your own or with your own group if you prefer and we will then supply you with a simple map and instructions to follow the signage.

A picnic is planned in the area around the parking after the walk and you are invited to bring your food, chairs, tables and umbrellas to join in the fun! Please note barbecues will not be allowed because of fire risk.

As you do not need to book lunch this year, registrations will not be required in advance. You should fill in your registration form beforehand and bring it with you before the start of the walk. Registrations forms in English and French are on the website.

Registration will open at 9.00 and we would be grateful if you could arrive in plenty of time before the start of each guided walk to enable us to process everyone's registration without delaying the start of each walk.

As previously anyone who wishes to raise sponshorship to support our work is welcome to do so. If you do not wish to raise sponsorship we will invite a minimum donation of 5€ per person at registration. Sponsorship forms in English and French can be found on website.

Many of you will be taking part in memory or support of someone close. We feel this is an important part of this event and should you wish to, you can use the attached "I am walking for" sign on your clothing. Some signs will also be available at registration.

In order to find the start of the walk please follow the directions below (also look out for CSF signs which will be posted from the D613 turn off).

All information regarding the walk can be accessed on our website at
