The View from Castle Rock, by Alice Munro - March 11, 2011

 

The View from Castle Rock is a collection of historical and autobiographical short stories.  The first part narrates the lives of members of the Laidlaw branch of Alice Munro's family tree, starting from their Scottish origins in the 18th century.  The second part consists of fictionalized tales inspired by events in her own life.
