Foundation Night 2023

During the conference, FAWCO will be hosting their biggest fundraising event of the year “Foundation Night”. This year’s theme is “There is Value in Vintage: Old is New Again.” You can sign up for OneCause, whether or not you are attending the conference in Bratislava. This platform will allow you to browse through Silent and Live Auction items, become a Benefactor, purchase Friendship Quilt raffle tickets and charms, and access information about supporting FAWCO’s Education Award and Development Grant programs. You can also register a silent or live auction item, or  participate in the “If Clothes Could Talk” competition by sharing the story behind your vintage outfit that you will be wearing for Foundation night. Bidding for the auction items has already begun! So get bidding!

Target project and Development grants

I would like to thank all of those who participated in the voting process for the next Target Project. Over 90% of FAWCO Clubs submitted their votes! The selected project will be announced on March 24, 2023 during the 11:00–11:45 am session of the FAWCO Biennial Conference in Bratislava.

It is now time to turn our attention to the Development Grants. The FAWCOFoundation has recently released the list of nominees for the 2023 Development Grants, with a total of twelve projects nominated across five categories; Education (three grants available); Global Issues (two grants available); Environment (one grant available); Health (one grant available) and Human Rights (two grants available). You can find a full description of each project HERE. As always, every nominee offers something unique, making the selection process a challenging one. As an affiliated club to FAWCO, all members of the AWG-LR have their word to say. You can cast your vote HERE. The winners of the grants will be revealed during the conference in Bratislava.
